  • Belmont Stages Contest for Couples

    How cute is this? The Belmont has organized a short essay contest called for couples who’ve met, had first dates, become engaged, gotten in huge spats (just kidding), and more at the hotel. The three winners — to be announced on Valentine’s Day — will get a photo shoot and a posh night’s stay in a garden suite.

  • Lockhart Hosts Party for Stone Family

    Oak Cliff’s Lockhart Smokehouse and Pecan Lodge Catering will co-host a Shannon Stone Memorial Fundraiser this Sunday, August 14, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Ticket price ($30) includes a BBQ dinner, drinks, music, and a silent auction.

    The event is a local effort to help the family of Firefighter Shannon Stone, who fell over a railing at Rangers Ballpark while attempting to catch a ball for his 6-year-old son.

  • Green Pet Celebrates 3rd-Anniversary on Saturday

    Happy Birthday wishes are in order for Green Pet, who just celebrated its third year in the Bishop Arts District. Party plans are set for this Saturday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be scores of giveaways and door prizes — plus, mega sales all day!

    Rescue dogs from Rescue Me: A New Leash on Life will be in attendance, and part of the event’s proceeds will be donated to DFW Rescue Me.

    Refreshments will be served from 5 to 7 p.m., and tell the Green Pet team “Happy Anniversary” and receive 10 percent off your total ticket. There will also be a pop-up pooch park, so you can bring your own canine BFF to share in the festivities.

    Our Mother’s Day Makeover contest winner Tori Fowler arrived at Indigo 1745 on Saturday morning already glowing thanks to a spray tan from Stephanie Gonzalez of Skin and Body Solutions. The at-home airbrush tan is a new service Gonzalez offers.

    After scoring fabulous accessories at Chaska Norwood’s Just Add Jeans, it was a full day of relaxation for Tori, who was treated to a Timeless Youth facial, a brow tint and design, facial waxing, and then a new ‘do courtesy of Miriam Ortega at Studio 410.
