Jefferson Boulevard At Night With A Star Filter
This time of year I like to pull out a 8-point star filter on my Nikon 35mm f1.8 DX lens. Above is the iconic Texas Theater and Charco Broiler on Jefferson Blvd. Star filters are fun to use this time of year, especially with Christmas lights. Above photos were taken with a Nikon D300, ISO 640, shutter speed 1/160, f/2.8.

Tractor Trailer Jackknifes in Coombs Creek
A tractor trailer jackknifed in Coombs Creek about 4 p.m. today as crews were working on restoring the bridge near Irwindell Boulevard. No injuries were reported and several squad cars were on the scene. With the the cab on its side on Coombs Creek Drive, two tow trucks were called to pull the trailer portion of the rig from the creek.
