Rendering: Brookville Equipment Corp.

Brookville Equipment Corp., the Pennsylvania-based company manufacturing the streetcars that will run between Union Station and Oak Cliff, released these renderings today. Featuring three passenger compartments, the 66.5-foot-long, 8-foot-wide cars will have plenty of low floor area, providing accessible seating for passengers. The streetcar line is expected to be finished in late 2014.

How in the heck are you supposed to hang off the sides of one of those things? Ding! Ding! No Rice-a-Roni moment for me, but I’ll be glad when it’s ready.

I’m a little disappointed as I thought they would look like the old street cars, but still, it will be great for Oak Cliff, so I’ll get used to them…very sleek and modern looking…

This isn’t very accurate, where’s the tagging all over the cars?

Retro would have obviously been nice, but years from now this will be the new retro. ;)

Its not suppossed to look like an old style trolly car. Its meant to be functional, not a novelty…. In other places, not so car dependant as here, people actually use these things as a form of transportation….
