Interim Principal Named at Booker T. Washington

David DeLuna, who has been the assistant principal at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts for six years, will be the school’s interim principal, executive director Liliana Valdez announced today. My alma mater needs an interim principal because Tracie Fraley, its principal since 2008, has been promoted to executive director over the Thomas Jefferson High School feeder pattern.

“As an internal member of the BTWHSPVA team, Mr. DeLuna will bring a wealth of knowledge, consistency, and a commitment to continue the school’s unique and positive school environment,” Valdez said in a letter to parents and faculty.

Valdez’s letter said an interim assistant principal will be named soon.
