Don’t let an 8-year-old show you off.

Ashton Bryson, a fifth-grader at Rosemont Elementary, has been collecting coats for the homeless for THREE YEARS now. This year, she’s talked Bolsa Mercado into becoming a drop-off site for donations — and employees will reward your generosity with a free cup of coffee. Her “Heat the Homeless” campaign continues through Friday, Nov. 30

And just around the corner on Jefferson Boulevard, Mesa Veracruz is serving as a drop-off site for toys that will be donated to patients at Children’s Medical Center. You can donate new or gently used toys, electronics, and books until Dec. 20. Mesa has vowed to contribute some toys and gift cards to the cause, too.
