Donations Needed For Booker T. Washington Gala
The PTSA at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts — my alma mater — will host a party atop the downtown El Fenix next week to solicit sponsors and donations for the Art in the Heart of the City Gala.
Art in the Heart of the City, an annual fundraising event with a live and silent auction, raises money to support Booker T. Washington students’ dual pursuit of excellence in academics and the performing arts.
The Gala Round Up Party is scheduled from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 at 1601 McKinney Ave. To get in, bring a donation for the gala auctions that’s worth at least $25; gift cards, gift certificates, and underwriting contributions are welcome.
