Armed Robbery Ends With Chase, Shooting
A police chase through North Oak Cliff ended with officers opening fire on an armed man in the 1100 block of Green Street.
According to DPD media relations, officers followed two suspects who they believe earlier had robbed a 7-Eleven in the 200 block of East Colorado Boulevard. During the chase, one of the suspects bailed from the passenger side and was taken into custody while the driver took officers to a dead end on Green St.
After he stopped, the suspect emerged from the car with a hand gun. Officers gave the man multiple commands to drop the weapon and, when he turned to face the officers, one fired, striking the suspect.
The man was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
