What Will Replace Minyard on Fort Worth Avenue?

Our buddy Roy Appleton at the Morning News broke the news (to me at least) that the Minyard grocery store on Fort Worth Avenue is closing its doors. So, what would you like to see in that space? And before you all line up with the Central Market/Whole Foods/Trader Joe’s talk, come on — let’s be serious. We all know that the people of North Oak Cliff would flock to one of those stores like bees to honey, but that doesn’t mean the powers that be at those companies are going to get over Oak Cliff’s overall reputation anytime soon.

I don’t know, but it’s time for Minyard’s to go. How about a Farmer’s Market outlet?

@Larry: You’re talking about the Minyard in the Lakewood Shopping Center, right? That one was indeed replaced by a Whole Foods, which replaced the Whole Foods on Lower Greenville Avenue, which was replaced by a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market.

@David- Why would you want an Alamo Drafthouse when we’ve got something better already: The Texas Theatre!

What are they planning on replacing Minyards with? I think a Neighorhood Walmart would be nice. I also love Whole Foods.
