Counterfeit Money Floating Around North Oak Cliff

This past week, four separate stores reported customers paying with counterfeit money. Be sure to check your $20 bills and make sure it has Andrew Jackson — even if you wish he wasn’t on there.

At 11:19 a.m. Oct. 3, an employee of 7-Eleven in the 2000 block of Fort Worth Avenue called police after a suspect paid with a counterfeit $20 bill.

At 2:51 p.m. Oct. 3, a suspect tried to use a counterfeit $100 bill at a thrift store in the 900 block of West Jefferson Boulevard.

At 9:55 a.m. Oct. 4, a suspect tried to pay for groceries with a counterfeit $100 bill at Kroger in Wynnewood Village.

At 4 p.m. Oct. 7, a suspect tried to pay with a counterfeit $50 bill at El Rancho grocery store in Wynnewood Village. The woman said she broke a $100 bill at Jack in the Box and was given that bill back in change.
