National Night Out is Coming
Thanks to the summer heat and mosquitoes, Texas is the only state celebrating the annual neighborhood watch party, National Night Out, on Oct. 2.
As a part of this, neighborhood groups all over Dallas will be celebrating the local efforts being made to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness while bringing a community together to support anti-crime programs and partnerships with local police.
This year in Oak Cliff, Methodist Dallas Medical Center will host a shindig from 6 to 8 p.m. with a performance from the Josh Weathers Band, food, crime prevention vendors, and, of course, prostate cancer screenings — one can never be too safe.
Kings Highway Conservation District will also be celebrating within the North Polk Street Beautification Project at 620 Turner St.
