In another step to becoming reality, DART has chosen Brookville Equipment Company out of Pennsylvania to build the streetcar that will shuffle riders between downtown Dallas and Oak Cliff.
The rail is set to open in 2014 and will connect riders from a station near Methodist Dallas Medical Center at Colorado Blvd. and Beckley Ave. to Union Station — a connective hub for DART, the TRE, and AMTRAK transportation.
IMO, the only downside is losing my unobstructed and fast-tracked route to OC when the Houston Street viaduct is shut down for construction.
