Update: Bishop Dunne Shuts Down For Day

It might be more like two days, actually, thanks to a water-main burst which affects air-conditioning across much of the campus, said Dunne spokeswoman Judy Porter. But not to worry; students can just plug away online instead.

“They can stay home and Skype and talk to their teachers, and not miss a day,” Porter continued. That’s been the school’s backup approach for a while now — even when the record-breaking “Snowmageddon” thing hit town more than two years ago — and Dunne teachers are required to post course material online anyway.

Sounds like a plan.

Update within an update: a coworker just directed me to a Dallas Morning News post about AC problems at Harry Stone, which were promptly fixed yesterday when a student’s father called out DISD Superintendent Mike Miles on Twitter. Ha.

4:31 p.m.: Dunne will reopen its doors on Thursday.
