Has Anyone Gone From BTWHSPVA to USMC?

When I was a student at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, there was a guy in the grade ahead of me named Arlo Eisenberg. Given our alma mater’s lack of physical education classes, I’m fairly certain Arlo is the only professional athlete ever produced by BTWHSPVA.
His unique standing among Arts Magnet alums came to mind when I read Alana Harrison’s story about Venture Crew 5 in this week’s edition of Oak Cliff People. The president of Venture Crew 5, Kessler Park resident Sydney Hutchison, is a senior at Booker T., and she told Alana she wants to be a U.S. Marine.
Surely, she would be the first female Marine my school has ever produced. Heck, she may be its first Marine period.
