Man Suffers Burns in El Tivoli Place Fire
Just after 3 a.m. this morning, a Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire at a house in the 900 block of Chevez Drive.
When firefighters arrived, they saw fire coming from a shed partially attached to the house by a roof extension. The fire was extinguished before the El Tivoli Place home became fully enveloped in the early morning blaze.
A man sustained burns trying to escape the home and was taken to a local hospital, in unknown condition, for further evaluation, according to the report.
The cause is under investigation, but preliminary remarks from investigators believe the fire began as a result of an unspecified electrical short in the fixed wiring of the shed.
