Dunne Has Nine Months to Raise $150,000

Well, Bishop Dunne seems to be cleaning up in the grant department — although the latest sum isn’t guaranteed.

The Catholic school just got a $150,000 challenge grant from the Hoblitzelle Foundation of Dallas to replace its 50-year-old boilers and HVAC system, and has until next May to match the funds.

Hoblitzelle grants aren’t always school-centric, for the record; per the foundation’s website, they’re usually designed to meet “specific, non-recurring needs of the educational, social service, medical, cultural, and civic organizations in Texas, particularly in the Dallas area.” And the next application deadline is in December.

If you can spare a few dollars for Dunne’s fundraising campaign and/or want to learn more about it, Lydia Torrez (214-339-6561 ext. 297) and Judy Porter (same number, ext. 286) are your best contacts.
