OC Trivia Revealed
So I know you’ve been waiting with baited breath for the answer to my “Dallas” trivia question from 1985.
In the event you forgot the pressing question: In 1900, Oak Cliff voted not to merge with Dallas because they did not like the city ordinance requiring what be kept off city streets?
Well…a big thanks to MarcusB! Here’s his reply: “It was an ordinance that horses, cattle, and hogs be fenced or tied down 24/7. Oak Cliff allowed animals to roam free during the day and only be fenced/tied at night.”
I think MarcusB is more accurate than the ancient version I have of Dallas Trivial Pursuit. Their answer was simply: cows
MarcusB added: “Some OC neighborhoods today still seem to be fighting that ordinance.” What do you think?
