Dude, Sweet Chocolate Plans to Take Over The World
Katherine Clapner, you made my “Chubby Nuts” go to my throat this Monday morning.
After sifting through a million reposts from someecards.com (did everyone discover this site at once?) there was an alarming post by Dude, Sweet Chocolate — the darling of sweet-toothed Cliff dwellers since 2010 — announcing that the business is expanding to the other side of the river.
Apparently, the chocolate geniuses who magically work vodka, blue cheese, and porcini mushrooms into delectable truffles (though not into the same one, of course) are opening a new kitchen at 1340 Inwood Road “to support new locations coming soon.”
I called Dude, Sweet to see if they plan on keeping their Bishop Arts storefront, but I haven’t heard back from them. The store is closed on Mondays, so it might be a while before we get the official word. I don’t know about you, but I’ll be stocking up on “Albatross” truffles this week, just in case.
UPDATE at 3:55 p.m. July 11: Clapner just called us — from Peru — to clarify that she will not be closing her Bishop Arts location. “That store, and that neighborhood, are paramount to our success,” she said.
