Zang Convenience Store Robber Caught Via GPS
At 7:15 a.m., Saturday, two armed robbers, one of which wielding a sawed-off shotgun, robbed the Zang Food Mart in the 1000 block of South Zang Boulevard. The suspects grabbed $260 cash, four cartons of cigarettes with a combined value of $220, and, what I’m guessing they would regret now, the clerk’s iPhone.
Police used the phone’s GPS to pinpoint the device at a house a little more than two miles away in the 400 block of Nimitz Drive. Inside the home they found the phone, cash, and the sawed-off shotgun. Also, IDs from some individual robberies were found in the front yard and police believe the man may have been involved with up to six different robberies that took place over Friday and Saturday.
Police haven’t released the man’s name yet and no other suspects have been caught.
