At least Garcia is not a wholly owned subsidary of big business like Veasey is. I think Garcia would work for all of us who live in his district instead of selling himself to the highest bidder. I think Veasey is beholding to some corporate interests and would be more concerned with them than the voters.

I’m glad that Councilman Griggs alerted us of his endorsement and I also noticed that former councilman Oakley endorsed Garcia too. Both good elected officials and I value their opinions. I haven’t seen or heard from Martin Frost in a long time so I haven’t paid much attention to his involvement

I got to see both candidates debate and was surprised by how weak the candidate from Ft. Worth was. He seemed so out of touch. I also have not enjoyed the emails his campaign and some group spamming me from D.C. send out. They are all mean spirited emails. Seems very Rebulican to me. I haven’t seen the other guy yet in OC just he has a bunch of yard signs in blighted lots.

Oak Cliff is not the center of the world, as much as that will pain you to admit, and your Park Cities People filter is of no use here. These same local economic development discussions take place in neighborhoods across Tarrant and Dallas counties. Sounds like you’re a bit sensitive to “good ol’ boy”. Try being a woman in Dallas. I actually find it refreshing to hear that this candidate supports these kinds of initiatives that are routinely dismissed by self-centered male yee-haws (there, that sounds better than good ol’ boy, doesn’t it?)

Garcia proved what type of person he is by stating in the debate that Dallas doesn’t have ghettos, but Fort Worth does. I’m embarrassed that my councilperson, Griggs, is throwing himself behind that.
