Lakewood Bookstore Moves Opposite Bolsa Mercado
Lucky Dog Books will open at 633 W. Davis St.
Paperbacks Plus was a Lakewood and M Streets mainstay until ritzy rents drove the small-time bookstore out of the area. They’ve since moved to three new locations, one on Garland Road, a Mesquite location off of East Davis Street, and one on West Davis Street, opposite Bolsa Mercado.
The store will be called Lucky Dog Books, and expect to find tons of well-loved paperback novels and other great finds. They used to have a significant collection of comic books, too.
While I’m sad to see Paperbacks Plus leave their longtime home, it’s great that they moved to Oak Cliff, giving the neighborhood a well-established, independently owned bookstore.
