Art Conspiracy Raises $30K For Today Marks the Beginning
Holy cow, Batman. When I spoke to Sarah Jane Semrad via twitter last week, the final numbers from the Oct. 23 Art Conspiracy auction hadn’t been tallied.
“Nothing official yet! But it’s gonna be a lot!!” Semrad said.
Boy was she right.
Since 2005, Art Conspiracy has raised a whopping $110,000 for local charities. This year’s beneficiary is Today Marks the Beginning, a nonprofit that brings art lessons to children while promoting non-violence and social justice.
“This money will allow us to bring our MasterPEACE programming to hundreds of Dallas children, and we are incredibly grateful for that. Additionally, I am left with an enormous optimism about the combined power of positive creativity and community,” said TMtB co-founder Karen Blessen. “Major kudos and hats off to Art Conspiracy, all the contributing artists, and the volunteers!”
