Hula-Hoopers to Converge Upon Lake Cliff Park
I love this. A hula-hooping organization (yes) called Oak Cliff Hooplah is celebrating World Hoop Day Sunday at Lake Cliff Park, and you’re invited. The action starts at 2 p.m.
From a Facebook page dedicated to the event:
Every year for one day, hoopers around the world gather in parks, beaches, community centers and schools to raise awareness of the need to stay fit with fun exercise, while giving back to their neighborhoods and raising funds to continue sending Ambassadors with Hoops [volunteers bearing donated hula hoops] to remote locations with children in need.
Event organizers will have extra hoops to borrow if you can’t bring your own, and the schedule includes a drawing for new ones, too, as well as a “hoop jam” — though I’ve yet to determine what that means. I say we drop by and find out.
