Decorazon to Leave Bishop Arts District

File photo: Christina Barany

We’ve received word from Decorazon Gallery’s owners, the husband-wife team of Hugo Garcia Urrutia and MK Semos, that they plan to move their venue out of the Bishop Arts District. The closing date will be July 26.

In a prepared statement, Hugo and MK said they would like to thank all of the “supporters, artists, media, and collectors that have collaborated with us in helping to enrich the community through a positive cultural exchange throughout the six years of openings and rotating art exhibitions.”

No word on where they plan to set up shop next or why they’re leaving Bishop Arts. We’ll try to get ’em on the phone today.

(FYI, the photo was taken in January 2009 to promote an exhibit inspired by this.)
