Three North OC Projects Win Preservation Dallas Awards
This just in hot off the e-mail server: Three North Oak Cliff construction/renovation/restoration projects have earned awards from Preservation Dallas.
There are five categories of award winners. Cogitate on that for a moment. … I’m thinking they should just move the awards ceremony to the Bishop Arts District. Anyway, congratuls to all the North Oak Cliff winners.

Preservation Dallas Announces the Winners of Its Eleventh Annual
Preservation Achievement Awards
(DALLAS, TX—May 12)—Preservation Dallas has announced the winners of its eleventh annual Preservation Achievement Awards. Katherine Seale, executive director of Preservation Dallas, made the announcement. The awards will be presented at the awards ceremony and celebration on Friday, May 21 at the Frank Lloyd Wright Designed Kalita Humphreys Theater at 3636 Turtle Creek Boulevard from 6-8 p.m.
An independent jury of preservation professionals selects the award winners from nominated properties.

Preservation Dallas will also present Special Recognition Awards at the Preservation Achievement Awards:
Special Recognition in Historic Preservation: Preservation Dallas presents a special tribute to Willis Winters, FAIA, Assistant Director at the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department.
The 2010 Stewardship Award honors Jim Anderson, long-time historic planner at the City of Dallas.
The 2010 Craftsmanship Award honors the reconstruction of Tenor & Contralto sculptures at Fair Park.
The 2010 Dorothy Savage Award recipient is presented posthumously to Gail Thoma Patterson for her significant contributions to the historic preservation and the Dallas community. Carrie Thoma Patterson will be accepting the award.
